The project combines the German "Energiewende" (energy transition) and electromobility in an integrated approach. The goal is an optimized combination of mobility and locally produced renewable electricity generation. Therefore solutions and prototype implementations are developed to integrate electric vehicles into energy management systems of smart buildings.

The project is divided into methodological and application-related focal points. Various energy management systems are being investigated and developed for the integration of electric vehicles into their environment. The solutions will be simulated and implemented in hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) test benches and demonstrated in real operation in a newly built residential building in Hallbergmoos occupied by a family and in a parking garage at BMW. The investigations will be used to derive findings and recommendations for further development in both electric vehicles and energy management systems and to evaluate the economic and ecological effects of such a combination.
