Transportation

By car

The Chair of Energy systems is reachable by car over the A9 München-Nürnberg highway. The research center is located directly at the junction Garching-Nord. By plane

From the Munich Airport, the research center is reachable by taxi, public transportation or rental car. The most affordable method is by public transportation on the suburban train line S1 until the Neufahrn station, from which the bus 690 will take you directly to the Garching-Forschungszentrum station (Ticket: "Tagesticket Außenraum", also available as a "Partnertagesticket" for up to 5 persons). This stop is located directly in front of the main entrance of the department of mechanical engineering. Public transportation

The institute for energy systems is reachable through public transportation on the subway line U6. From Munich central station, the research center is most easily reachable by suburban train lines heading in the direction of Ostbahnhof to the Marienplatz station, from where the U6 in the direction of Garching-Forschungszentrum is accesible (Ticket: "Tagesticket München XXL", also available as a "Partnertagesticket" for up to 5 persons).
