Scalable process for the production of nano-compartments made of ABA-triblock copolymers

Sarah Poschenrieder, doctoral thesis Technische Universität München, 2017

Polymeric nano-compartments can be used as artificial reaction chambers for biotransformations showing no side-reactions. A one-step process was developed in miniaturized stirred-tank reactors to produce spherical polymer vesicles with narrow size distribution. This process was successfully scaled-up to the liter-scale by the use of the dimensionless Froude number. Thus polymeric nanovesicles with low polydispersity could be produced within 1.5 hours in a batch process.
