Systematic analysis of heterologous expression in Escherichia coli (2015-2019)

Limitations or interactions with the cell often occur during heterologous protein production in the host organism E. coli. In order to understand this interaction, a holistic approach was pursued, which, in addition to cellular metabolism under load, considers different process strategies and the cell's own resources. Furthermore, both a system for detecting the cellular capacity and a modular plasmid to visualize expression-dynamics could be established.
