New practical course Applied Systems Biotechnology

We started the new semester by offering the practical course Applied System Biotechnology for the very first time. In this practical course, the students are asked to cultivate a recombinant bacterial strain (with two different gene constructs for fluorescent proteins) in a 3.6-L bioreactor, record and analyse the experimental data and intergrate the data into a mathematical model. In this way, a direct connection is created between pratical laboratroy work and theoretical approaches for modelling of the process. We want to thank our students for their good work and we are looking forward to offering this pratical course again soon.
