In the session "Approaching life cycle sustainability as the actual driver of energy", Elke Schropp presented her results on "Environmental performance of anion exchange membrane water electrolysis". The study was carried out in collaboration with researchers from the Spanish research institute IMDEA Energy and the Fraunhofer IFAM in Dresden, and sheds light on the environmental and material criticality of hydrogen production using anion exchange membrane electrolysis. Gabriel Naumann presented the results of his work on the environmental performance of solar-hydrogen systems for buildings in the form of a poster in the session "Assessing sustainability of flexible energy systems transition".
