TUM RES goes International Conference on Life Cycle Management 2023

Our PhD students Elke Schropp and Gabriel Naumann presented their research results at the 11th International Conference on Life Cycle Management (LCM 2023) in Lille. With about 1000 participants from academia and industry, the LCM is one of the most renowned conferences in the field of sustainability.

In the session "Approaching life cycle sustainability as the actual driver of energy", Elke Schropp presented her results on "Environmental performance of anion exchange membrane water electrolysis". The study was carried out in collaboration with researchers from the Spanish research institute IMDEA Energy and the Fraunhofer IFAM in Dresden, and sheds light on the environmental and material criticality of hydrogen production using anion exchange membrane electrolysis. The study is currently still in the publication process, but it is already available as a preprint here:

Gabriel Naumann presented the results of his work on the environmental performance of solar-hydrogen systems for buildings in the form of a poster in the session "Assessing sustainability of flexible energy systems transition". The study was performed in collaboration with the University of Paderborn and has already been published in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy:
