Automotive Engineering

The combination of conventional powertrain concepts with energy storage systems and additional drive considerably expands the parameter range to be varied. In order to ensure the optimum interaction of all components in all operating ranges of the overall vehicle, the use of a suitable simulation tool is therefore indispensable if time-consuming test bench trials are to be avoided, at least to a large extent. Models of electromechanical energy converters form the basis of such a tool. For this reason, we develop parameterizable and scalable models of asynchronous and synchronous machines, which allow an efficiency-optimized representation of the entire permissible operating range, including consideration of the associated inverter.
