Electrical machines and systems

The aim of the research area of electrical machines and systems is always to find the optimum drive solution for a given application.

To meet this requirement, we have built up a number of additional core competencies in recent years. This includes automated machine design of standard machines as well as the implementation of novel machine concepts and their recalculation and modeling. An essential aspect is the analysis of individual losses and their correct reproduction in the machine model created.

The large number of test rigs available to us enables us to validate the models created or to further investigate the mechanisms of individual losses. The research results obtained find direct application in the energy and power management of electric vehicle technology.
